Slightly Drunk
In 1998 I went by myself without a tent but had arranged to meet with some fellow Pearl Jam fans who came from Holland. As I lived only around 60 km from Roskilde I thought I would be able to drag myself back home every night and sleep in a good soft bed. How wrong I was. It is just not possible. One of the Pearl Jam fans saved me though. I was able to crash in his tent. I still owe him I believe.
The program this year might not have been as interesting to me as the '97 program. At least not at the time. However, it was a great program nonetheless. The weather was also great. All sun and very little rain. Seeing The Mighty Mighty Bosstones was something else. They rocked my panties off. They have this guy in the band who almost does nothing but dance (or whatever it is he does) on the stage. Very cool concert. Made me a fan.
Bob Dylan and band blew me away. I barely knew any of the songs they played since I was never in to Dylan before this concert but their guitar work swept me off my feet.
The Beastie Boys show was something I looked forward to. It didn't go the way I plaanned though. By accident I happened to consume a liter of white wine before and during the concert (not counting whatever else I had been drinking that day) so I can't really remember much of it. I had what you could call a total black out. I do remember standing around after they played Sabotage wondering when they'd come back and do an encore when infact they had just done that. So I got the start and the end of that concert. I do also remember them playing Intergalactic now that I think hard and long.
