Nanna is without her friend now

This is a sad day. One of our ferrets, Pippi, was put to sleep as she was terminally ill with cancer. The poor thing hadn’t eaten in two weeks and today we got her scanned at the vet and it was confirmed that it was cancer. A different kind of cancer than the one she was successfully treated for just last February. So she was put to rest. Four and half years old. Rest in peace, Pippi. You were beautiful.

There seems to be a problem with how ferrets are bred in Denmark. The breeders who sell to pet stores only concern themselves with maximizing profit and not eliminating bad traits in the bloodlines. If you buy a ferret in a regular shop in Denmark there’s a huge risc involved with regards to vet bills piling up and the ferrets lifespan. Please consider buying from someone who knows. Pet stores certainly don’t.
